My Background

I graduated from the University of Arizona in 1984 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. I worked evenings as a charge nurse at a private psychiatric hospital in Tucson, where I developed a team mindset and honed my problem-solving, as well as empathic and intuitive faculties. One and a half years later, I relocated to southern Florida and with the move came the inner call to a radical career redirection. I enrolled at the American Schools of Holistic Massage and became a licensed massage therapist. Through the late 1980’s and 1990’s, I studied and/or became certified in several different body- and energy-work modalities, including Trager, Neuromuscular Therapy, Jin Shin Jyutsu, Reiki, Craniosacral Therapy and Healing Touch. I also studied Holographic Repatterning and became a certified practitioner in 1995.

In 2011, I felt the inner prompting to connect with people in a new way, drawing upon my 25 years in private practice as a massage therapist and energy healer, as well as my continuing education in nutrition, stress-reduction, fitness, and health psychology. I enrolled in the long-distance health coaching program through Wellcoaches School of Coaching, based in Wellesley, MA and became certified as a Health and Wellness Coach in July, 2012.

In March of 2014 I received my certification as an Integrated Acupressure Practitioner. (Integrated Acupressure™ is an advanced energy medicine therapy that helps the body systems find balance to support optimal function of mind, body, and spirit by addressing the physical and emotional root causes of the issues. See the Integrated Acupressure Site for more information)

My lifelong interest in Holistic Health practices and my passionate commitment to personal growth has fueled my 27+ years of study and practice in nutrition, fitness, yoga, meditation, and spirituality. I also bring a compassionate empathy to those suffering from insomnia, be it acute (situational) or chronic, because I dealt with this debilitating condition for nearly 16 years. I am keenly aware of the broad scope of physical, mental, emotional, and social disability that long-standing insomnia can create. My approach with clients is multi-dimensional and I will network with other health care providers to provide the most comprehensive plan of healing. There is no “one-size-fits-all” approach and no “magic bullet” to this complex issue which plagues millions of Americans.

My greatest joy and fulfillment come from empowering my clients to an experience of their own greatness and deep wisdom. I do not have your answers. I am committed to empowering and coaching you to find them yourself.
